A Blue Wave is Coming!

Another Verse in The Ballad of Putin and Trump

You can’t consider the Senate Intelligence Report and other reports and revelations about the relationship between Trump and Putin in a vacuum as if has no connection to or to C.  Taken as a whole they present a picture of a leader of one power under the control of the leader of another, hostile foreign power.  There are only 3 reasons why a person would still defend Trump who conspired with Russia to get into the White House and now aligns our foreign policy to reflect  Russia’s interests not America’s out of fear of exposure.  1) They are a Russian asset fearful of exposure too. 2). They have benefited greatly from Russia’s “investment” in America; or 3) They don’t care because they love Trump’s  racism and fascism more than they love this country.Meanwhile Trump has yet to even ask Putin about the bounties on our troops but goes hat in hand around the horn begging G7 nations to re-admit Russia.

There have  been many, many investigative journalists’ article, scholarly books/articles,  Congressional committee reports, tell-all books and hearings on the relationship between Trump and Putin.  So when someone takes one data point, one nail for the coffin as their Alamo it is immediately suspect,

Trump’s Attack on the US Postal Service

Nancy Pelosi, Democratic House majority leader, ordered the House back to DC for hearings on the Postmaster General’s war on the Post Office.

Here is a chronology of events and key players.

  • DATE Trump attacks the postal service’s contract with Amazon.  Amazon pays USPS for parcel delivery not the other way round.  Trump says the government is losing money on the deal.  The USPS says the arrangement is very beneficial to the government.  Trump’s attack wanted to harm Jeff Bezos who owns the Washington Post, a very vocal main stream media critic of the Trump administration.   Trump’s assault on USPS 3 years later is not revenge because the PG did not void the contract as some suggest.
  • DATE Trump talks about election fraud as concern about Russian and Chinese interference in our election grows.
  • DATE Ivanka Trump owns a company that manufactures voting machines in China.  These machines are used in several states.  Let this sink in.  The daughter and adviser of a President on the ballot for re-election owns the machines that will be used to collect and transmit votes.  YOU CAN’T MAKE THIS STUFF UP.

How good is the Trump Economy?

The economy under Trump is doing about as well as one of his casino’s or Trump University.  In other words, he’s run it into to the ground.  Trump inherited the longest economic boom since Wall Street started tracking these things.  He took credit for the continued uptick in jobs, employment and GDP. He boasted where ever he found an open mike that he alone was responsible for the prosperous economy.  Just when I thought we were just one more good jobs report away from another four years of Trump. the economy started to slide.  It began with the trade wars that hurt American farmers and increased consumer prices for many household goods.    And then along came CoVID . In addition to the unnecessary loss of lives caused by his ineptitude, Trump’s failure to act and downplaying of the virus caused businesses and schools to close and the wheels of American consumerism to grind to a halt.  Businesses closed and workers were fired or laid off in the private sector AND the public secctor.

US CoVID Deaths Passes 169,000!

For the 9th day in a row, more than 1000 Americans died of CoVID.  We’ve passed the grim milestone of 169,000 deaths and 5 million cases.  Tens of thousands of deaths could have been prevented.  Classrooms are empty, millions unemployed, an expected wave of CoVID evictions before the month’s out and Trump still does not have a national plan for dealing with the Pandemic.

John Robert Lewis: February 21, 1940 – July 17, 2020

President Obama gives John Lewis the Medal of Freedom

I resolved with John Lewis’s death to learn more about the good people who are making a difference in our world in their own voice and words instead of through an obituary or a televised funeral.  I am old enough to have felt the winds of the civil rights movement even though I was too young to add so much as a breath to it.  I knew in a vague way who Malcolm X and Martin Luther King were.  This came from eaves dropping on the adults in my orbit, snippets on the evening news no longer than a Youtube© ad today and, occasionally, a front page article.  I ask
