Countdown to 2022

A Blue Wave is Coming!

The Case for Collusion: Trump Jr.’s Meeting with Russia

When I look back at reporting on Russian interference in the 2016 election and the contacts/meetings between Russian agents and Trump campaign officials, family members, and fixers, I do not understand why Mueller did not conclude that Trump colluded with Russia? Honestly, it is as plain as day that he did. It may be circumstantial evidence since there’s no tape of Trump meeting with Putin but taken as a whole these meetings are only circumstantial evidence of guilt like winning the Powerball 10 times in a row is only circumstantial evidence of fraud.

The case for collusion is moving up the food chain.  From Flynn/Manafort to Kushner to Trump Jr.  One more step and it’s Trump himself.  What will it take for these Trombies to accept and the GOP to admit that far from only smoke, Trump’s active and aggressive partnership with Russia to hijack the election is a raging inferno?.  Our Republic, our ideals, our democratic institutions, our national identity and all  that made us the United States of America will not survive another year, never mind 3 more years, of the Putin/Trump plutocracy.   Would it not have been better to have ceded the Cold War to the U.S.S.R than to cede our democracy to Putin as Trump and his gang is doing?

Trump’s Approval Rating Drops to Historic Low

In 2017 I was tracking Trump’s polling numbers like a day trader tracks the stock market. Every increase in his disapproval rating was a cause for celebration and every decrease a cause for alarm. I thought that an unending parade of reveals about his lack of character, incompetence, corruption, racism, illiteracy, etc. would keep driving down his approval rating until it was in the single digits. How naive. Quixotic. No reveal drove his approval rating below the 36% reported here. Nothing including Russian bounties on American soldiers has dropped his approval among those who identify as Republican under 80%.   It took me 3 years to come to grip with the reasons why.

There is no bridge too far, no utterance too vile, no act too low, no lie too obvious and no outrage too egregious for Donald Trump. Once you accept that our path is clear. To save the Republic Trump must be ousted sooner, not later. He partnered, not just colluded, with Putin to rob the American people of one of our most cherished democratic institutions: free elections.

Trump Jr. Meets with Russians to Get Dirt on Clinton

Again, why didn’t Mueller conclude that Trump colluded with Russia? Asking for a friend.

Hijacking of the election does not begin or end with this meeting. It begins with Trump being told of the
meeting in advance and telling Junior to take it and ends with Russia using bots both cyber and human
to:

  • create a groundswell of grass roots support around a core of fervent Trumpists that took on a life
    of its own
  • release the emails they hacked
  • plant/hype fake news damaging to Clinton
  • manipulate the vote tally just enough to give Trump an electoral college win. Partnering with Russia to
hijack our election tightened an already tight hold Russia had on Trump in the form of dirty financial
dealings with the Russians and evidence of compromising behavior

Trump Lengthy, Closed Door Meeting with Putin at G20 Summit

Back in 2017 Lindsey Graham was not the Trump lapdog he is today. His opinion that Trump was categorically unfit for the office of President was shared loudly and often while he campaigned for the Republican nomination. It is the center piece of a couple of anti-Trump ads in 2020. Just as clips of him extolling Joe Biden’s virtues and excoriating Trump is one of the best vote for Biden ads I’ve seen. What happened to Lindsey Graham? In a word: extortion.

Nobody knows what was said at the meeting because nobody except Trump, Putin and Putin’s interpreter were there.  Trump claimed to have pressed Putin on whether Russia interfered.  He denied it.  Trump believed him.

11 Reasons I’m Voting for Hillary

  1. Trump won’t release his tax returns. What’s he hiding?  Close financial ties to Russia? Questionable tax dodges?  Significantly lower net worth than he claims?  Whatever it is, we won’t like it.
  2. Trump has no respect for women.
  3. In 70+ years Trump’s not done anything for anybody that didn’t benefit him by some order of magnitude.
  4. Trump’s a bully. In fact and in temperament
  5. Trump’s a racist.
  6. Trump’s a rank opportunist.  He is unprincipled and without morals with a pathological need for approval.  He is contemptuous of anyone who does not have more money and power than he.  We’re all losers to him.
  7. Trump’s too dumb to be an idiot. He’s clueless when it comes to current affairs, foreign policy or history.  His business successes are exaggerated.  He’s not a Horatio Alger but a child of white privilege who’s lied and cheated his way to the Republican ticket.  He knows nothing about democracy and has no interest in learning.
  8. Trump’s mentally unfit. A vile, vengeful creature.
  9. Trump’s a fascist. He doesn’t know what that means but he is one.
  10. Trump’s foreign policy will be a disaster. He’ll put us on the road to ruin not the path to greatness.   Domestic and foreign policy dictated by misogynists, white nationalists,  conspiracy junkies, and Russia is not the American way.
  11. Trump’s a Russian asset.  Electing him as President would be the same as putting Russia in the White House and giving Putin our nuclear codes.  We did not win the cold war only to have Putin craft our foreign policy.
